Not sure if I got your question...
You can file I-485 only when your dates are current. If you filed I-485 by itself (not concurrently with I-140) then your PD will not be on the I-485.
is this pattern (missing PD on I-485) for people who've PD current and not got greened?

Many opinions have been expressed here. It is very tough to read through a few stories, coz each one of those must have suffered through this whole process..We have to feel proud of ourselves that we have withstood this whole process and are hoping for a bright day ...one day...some day soon.
Due to the new overload/frontlog of applications filed, at least, if the duration for EAD and AP can be increased from its 1 year expiration to 3 years, it will bring in some sort of security and relief. Just like, one can extend H-1B for 3 years, if your I-140 is approved, there should be a policy to get an EAD and AP for 3 years if you have applied for 485 and have been waiting for more than an year or say, 6 months.
We do not really know, if a major overhaul is in the near future, but such changes can help in providing interim relief.
What do you say, friends ?

I have mulled over different options in my head for a long time. Here are some things I came up with:
- switch to a part time H1 (and do something else in your free time that you might find a little more fulfilling, i.e enrolling in PT grad program, starting a business (which you CAN do on an H1!!!), travel!!). I know there is the money factor but most of us are IT people and hopefully taking a cut will be worth the improved life.
- begin your Canadian PR process. This takes a lot less time and honestly, I think Canadians are more cultured anyway. Leave these people to their Paris and Nicoles :)
OK - I guess I didn;t come up with as many options as I had thought.... :)
Are you sure you can open a business on H1B ?

Cancelled 4 tickets and lost 1000 bucks. Was to fly on 6th. Never expected dates will move. MY PD Nov 2001 EB3 India.
Hoping to get receipts by 20th. Is that a fair assumption? Planning to re-book for 22nd.
Don't want to lose another dime on cancellations and re-bookings.
Advice and share your thoughts.

i called uscis and they gave me the rns for ead and 485. but not for ap. they didn't provide any rns for my spouse as not present in the call. checked the money orders at bank...it was not cashed yet....anyone similar!:confused:
We had similar problem...my son checks were not cashed. Called USCIS and got RN.But the case is rejected...waiting for actual notice to resubmit.

Call USCIS and enquire about your card and also verify if your address in their system is correct. Also, get an appt with local USCIS office. All the best!!!Did any body received the card or case status changed to Card production ordered apart from GCEB2?
It seems there is progress only for GCEB2 for the gys who got the approval notice in August.

Is there any way we can work for our US employer from India on Indian salary? I am thinking a consulting company with presence in US and India (Manpower??) can set this up for us. I don't know how you have calclated that. As far as I remember seeing various threads on this forum, there are atleast 5-6K EB3 in 2002 and similar number in 2003 for India. Considering 2.5 number used per family I an guessing we need atleast 20-25K Green card numbers for EB3 to move beyond 2003. With just 3300 EB3 available per year, my guess is it'll take 4-5 years for cuttoff dates to go past 2003. I may be pesimistic, but this country's immigration system has taking all optimism out of our American dream...
Are we sure that there are around 5-6k EB3 pending in the years 2002 and 2003. If thats true then it will take atleast 6 more years to process all the EB3's for 2002 and 2003 :(

its not just this employer, many f____ employers have same issue they dont want to file 485 and atleast they are trying to delay the process as much as possible. They are fearing that the employees on L visas will have an oppurtunity to switch company if they get their GCs sooner.
Its our fate
L visas are a real problem as Employer can send you back and replace you even after filing 485 .Sweat talk is the only option for them.H1s are some what better atleast they can move to a different employer
