I was shocked to read your post and tears rolled on my cheeks. But I admire your determination to achieve your goal. Oh my God! You are a different kind of guy, Please don't lose your hope. I really don't know what kind of cancer and what stage are you at but I believe miralcles do happen. We all will pray for you. We wish you the best. I really want to say so many things but I don't know how.

Current status Applied for AOS, have AP & H1B approved till 2009
I've travelled twice using AP in the last 6 months (to countries other than Canada), CBP never asked me any questions, I think I will take the chance...

On the lighter note, this may not applicable to humans and mammals, egg broken from outside (but this happens inside the body) still brings in new life. :)

No welcome notice or card
No updates.....
It seems we are all in the same boat? Did any body try to talk to customer service or take Info pass or any idea who received the card after facing the similar kind of situation?

Just forget about GC and save as much as you can to take back home. Treat US the same way Indians treat ME.
Just take your fortune with you. If the GC comes then great, if not thats fine too. You are going back home with something - hard cash.
Remember US $ 210 K is nearly 1 crore rupees.

If GCs were sold in stores I would buy you and your family a bunch of them.
You are in the EB3 category, do you ever wonder why somebody who is more educated than you or me, makes more money? Can we say, hey you I was born in 1890 I should make more money, it does not fly, EB3 is not a reflection on your skills but more the job you hold.
The question you should ask is why have EB1, 2, 3, etc?
Why do you not include the family based categories, isn't family first, why not the EB spill over to to FB first then whatever trickles down comes to EB, is not this fair? I am sure there are a lot in the FB queue who have waited for longer than you. Now dont tell you you are better than FB because you are highly skilled, pay taxes, etc.
You signed up for this knowing what was in store.
You think writing a letter or starting up a thread is going to help?
I just wonder, is IV some kind of therapy? something like weightwatchers,
maybe we should call ourselves GCWatchers, for frustrated GC folks from India.
Tell me this, are your bosses fools to sponsor you in EB3, do they not know it will take years? No they are not, ask yourself why?

Let's make sure that this thread or http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showthread.php?t=21340 remains at the top "Recent forum posts" on IV homepage, so that more and more people can notice it and we can take a timely action. We might need some help from admin. to get this done. I see that "IV Forum login problems" thread is hardwired to remain at the top. We can do something similar for our thread.

I landed in Jan08 thru Windsor border in Michigan. I drove in my car to CA. You'll go to the immigration officer who'll check your landing docs, and then ask you to sign the landing document. Then show them the proof of funds. I had a cashier's check for the amount. Then you'll be asked for an address in CA. If asked tell them you are planning to settle at the address. If you say you are returning to US, they'll not give you the PR card saying when you come to live in CA they'll issue it. I made that mistake. They stamp your passport with the entry stamp. Without a PR card you can't enter CA at an airport. Your only option is driving to CA thru a land border. They'll let you in with just the stamp on the PP. Fortunately I live close to Windsor border.
As someone pointed out, you'll then go to customs, where they'll check the goods you are bringing or plan to bring later. There are 2 different forms for 'bringing goods with you' and 'goods to follow'. Make sure you fill in all the item in your home on the 'goods to follow' with some details like model number, etc. If you are not planning to live to CA, don't fill anything on the 'bringing goods form.

Hi,
Ours is Substituted labor(eb3) and Priority date is Feb2002.
Our lawyer sent our papers on 29th june2007.Don't know the status of mail,since my lawyer is not responding to our mail.

Assume that we convert to EB2 from next week..how long would it take to get to the I-485 stage.??..given an ideal scenario of no audits..PERM 3-6 months and I-1140 can we expidite??. in 15 days..

I dont have access to the certified labor copy , I am just wondering if we need it for AC21 purposes. I am not sure how to get it from my desi employer/ desi lawyer. I have a job offer with a fortune 200 company which is willing to do H1b transfer/extension so I am opting for H1b instead of EAD. I am pretty sure about the job description will satisfy the same/similar test.
Is the job title and job description mentioned on the labor cert? Mine is a pre perm case. Is it good to have copy of labor cert for AC21?

Call USCIS and enquire about your card and also verify if your address in their system is correct. Also, get an appt with local USCIS office. All the best!!!Did any body received the card or case status changed to Card production ordered apart from GCEB2?
It seems there is progress only for GCEB2 for the gys who got the approval notice in August.
