The amended H-1B by itself will not be an issue when it comes to GC.
My question was more about why for "rajuseattle" there was going to be AC21 since his job location has not changed.
In your case, you have mentioned that you are going to accept more responsibility than that has been stated in PERM, so AC21 is inevitable. As long as you are in the same line of work, I think you should be okay.

Depending upon the uscis announcement in a day or two (i.e,7/17 or 7/18)things may change for the short term so we will plan any specific action item after that.

According to USCIS Ombudsman 1/3rd of cases are pending more than 1 year due to namecheck. Also there are many cases stuck for more than 3 years. E

just spoke with someone yesterday whose PD was april 2005. he files 485 in september 2005 before eb2 retrogressed.
he got his GC in august 2007. now how is that possible when i still see people wth PD of 2004, whose GC is pending. also btw, in august 2007 and in july 2007 the eb2 was U.

All the posts that I have seen on the forum are related to what we should ask for regarding ammendments and changes to the proposed bills.
Why don't we also offer our services in return for quick approval????
This is part of the idea that I had a while back after listening to Prez. Bush's address to the nation. He said that the fed will increase funding to increase the number of Science and Maths teachers. Well, why don't we offer our services. Anyone working in the STEM fields shall have to work for say 4 hours a week at local schools teaching Science/ Maths, etc. We know all desis can do that. Most have an engineering background or are good at math anyways.
This way the government can
1. solve the teacher shortage problem
2. provide more students (future generations) with the education
3. can actually show that legal immigrants add value to society at the grass root level
I am sure that we can and do much more, but most is not directly visible to the population. This has the potential to provide a big impact.

looking at the recent trend i am not so sure if dems are going to do anything on CIR anyway, MA senate race is more like a referendum to president and congress policies, if president or dems think otherwise they are making a huge mistake, time to push aside health care reform and concentrate on economy and jobs, any immigration reform bill in this economy is not going to happen, i hope they do something to revive the economy!

Hi John, thanks for bringing this to the attention of our members. Lets hope everybody finds time to call Sen Cornyn to thank him for introducing this bill. Another thing I wanted to say is that, our members are all busy with 485 filing and stuff so we can expect a response only after the 17th of August when the excitement of 485 filing is over. Even though it was defeated it doesn't seem to be a very hated idea by the majority since 5 more votes would have made it safe. So there still seems to be a positive factor lingering around for us the "legal immigrants". Hope we are able to capitalize on it soon. IV is infact becomming stronger and more influential thanks to the dedicated efforts of the leader and the members. Pls keep up the spirit for all of us. Assigned to officer more that 60 days ago. :confused:
I've contacted the congressmen. There are 200 odd cases at NSC still lying unprocessed with earlier PD and RD (than mine) while the cutoff dates move forward for EB2-I. Are they going process all others before mine?
With this some lucky ones will get out and other unlucky ones will complain to the congressmen. Movements without clearing up the earlier cases will cause more problems.
Btw, Chris, what is your status?
