I thought the same thing when i read it first time ...
see the very next sentence after that statement
once the alien’s Form I-140 petition has been approved, the alien beneficiary retains his or her priority date as established by the filing of the labor certification for any future Form I-140 petitions, unless the previously approved Form I-140 petition has been revoked because of fraud or willful misrepresentation. "This includes cases where a change of employer has occurred"
If you read clearly then it says that you can keep the PD in your new employer GC process. You may loose that opportunity only if there was a fraud in the previous I140 and USICS revokes that I140.

So if your current I140 is clean then you will be able to use the PD in your next application for GC with the new employer.

For Nebraska:
https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/Processtimes.jsp?SeviceCenter=NSC
For Texas:
https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/Processtimes.jsp?SeviceCenter=TSC
Summary for I485:
Nebraska has processed most applications that it has had for 7 months (filed on or before April 14 2007).
Texas has processed most applications that it has had for 6 months.
Since 6 months is the target, Texas can be considered to be caught up, and Nebraska will likely have caught up next month.
For I485 that makes the visa bulletin the main issue.

if you saw any of the news shows over the weekend everybody says the chances of this passing the senate are about 33% and even if it passes the senate it might not pass the house. even kyl was skeptical about its chances. this is our chance, lets oppose this bill tooth and nail. no bill is better bill for us as long as kennedy, kyl and durbin are around. please oppose this bill

I got an RFE letter yesterday asking me to provide 1040 and W-2's from 1999.
I will be digging in my papers and boxes to see if I still have copies of my 1999 and 2000 returns.
The IRS does not keep records of 1040's for more than 7 years and when I called them they said they don't think they'll have a record of 1999.
I'm hoping that I will find my 1999 return, but what if I don't? Has anybody here been asked to provide returns going that far? especially for an Employment-based application?
The funny thing is that in 1999 and 2000 I was on an F1 visa as a student and I did have a graduate assistantship. I started employment in 2001.
I feel like the officer is trying to make it extremely hard for me to get my status adjusted....
PS: I received this RFE after the fact that I went for an interview at the local office and was told that "all my paper work is good and I should receive my card in the mail once the security check was cleared"; which I verified it was cleared a few days after the interview..

I did AC21 from a Consulting company into a big financial company and moved using EAD. My old employer requested USCIS to revoke my 140 and as a result I got a NOID from USCIS asking details of new employment. I gave the details and my case processing resumed.
AC21 issues can be resolved. So don't worry about it.
Chanduv23, When you moved to another employer, did they give you a permanent offer letter for your GC process that you would attach with the Ac21 documents or did you use the employment letter that they gave for joining the new company?? Am I confusing you? I meant to ask, since GC is for future employment, did thay give you a separate employment letter for the future job?

Is there reason you say that I cannot port the PD ...? Please explain.

I should have been clearer in my post. I meant the I-140 itself and not the PD. Please ignore mine as there are better answers. Thanks.

This is what I got to share with my friends from the site after I signed the petition :
Did You Hear What Happened in Washington?
Dear Friend,
As you may have heard in the news, Senator Kennedy has been at the forefront of immigration reform; he's built a bipartisan coalition around a tough but fair approach that is rapidly gaining popular support among Americans.
Sixty-three percent of Americans believe that immigrants who have lived in the country for a certain period of time should be allowed to go through the process of obtaining citizenship. But the out-of-touch Republican leadership is pushing back and many hope to make these would-be citizens felons.
I've added my signature of support to Senator Kennedy's efforts to protect the American worker. Will you join me?

I'm standing with Senator Kennedy, and fighting to ensure that our country values hard work. I hope you will too.
Thank you!

It is truly amazing how people give advise on legally sensitive issues without verifying the facts. People go to the lengths of suggesting work off the books in an open forum (Admin was right to cut him/her off right away).
It is always good idea to consult a lawyer on these matters. You may be breaking the law unwittingly.
AFAIK (I am not a lawyer, consult a lawyer) , you can't work even for free if that job is NOT usually done for free. For example you can't work as a developer for a software development company for free. You may call it volunteer work but it has to be truly volunteer work, meaning others also do this work as volunteers.

Is this RFE on your pending 485? What service center is this at? TSC or NSC.
Also what you can do is request IRS transcripts for year 1999-2000 if you cannot find the returns.
