When the cases gets shuffled around the country from NSC to CSC and back, the dtabases are separate. FP notices are generated when information on different databases are alligned together.
Hi,
Would you mind letting me know how did you find out about this database allignment information? Did any IO or any USCIS official told you about this?

Very well said GCBy3000.
I have one question, did you have any trouble while getting mortgage approval? Do you think in the changed scenario in US housing market, people like us will have problems in getting approval b'cos of our residency status and recently tightened regulations?
Well said eager_immi. Getting GC and getting job and earning is not the only thing in life. I have seen many many couple who are gc holders and citizens, giving up their career to bring up the kids for the first few years. This segment includes US citizens ( US Origin) too. Most the of the americans here have their spouse at home to take care of their kids first few years. It is not worth anybody's time and money to have a kid and put them in daycare from day one and go out and earn and pay half of it to daycare.
Enough of above, even my wife is CPA and we are married for 5 years now. She came to US dreaming about working in professional CPA firm. But my ignorance about GC process then cost her her career. She was depressed initially. I am an easy go guy and convinced her not to worry much about job. We planned and now we have 3+ year girl and a 3 weeks+ boy. Her mind is all set towards taking care of our kids and I am free from those job hunting depressions. Once both of our kids reaches 5+, she may again start to think about career. May be by then, by Gods grace, I hope to have my GC. I bought a house this year and we all live happily knowing all the uncertanites of H1. We knew it is risk to buy a house. But ultimately what is going to happen. Is anyone going to behead you in case you default or loose job? What the heck, file bankruptcy and go back to home country. At least the days we live here, we live in peace and enjoy. If you have this mindset, you will think clearly and will take positive decisions. Otherwise, everyday is hell in US for immigrants with the current GC process.
Getting GC and earning is not everything. It is only very very small part of life. Forget about it and live today's life with what you have. Worry about things which you can control. All other things will follow you automatically. Having kids is in your hand and you have to have this sooner or later. Always, sooner the better and you can use this retrogression as an opportunity to execute those projects instead of worrying over it. GOOD LUCK.

It already does, if you have an approved I-140 based on your LC.
For old PD, pending I-140 should not be bottleneck.
PD should be first criteria but US experience should not be ignored completely. US experience should be giving less point then PD.
10 points for each month for PD and 1 point for each month for being in US. GC priority should be created after calculating total points for PD and for being in US.

The analysis on the FB movement by simple1, et al is based on the current VB. This will result in severe retrogression in the FB categories. Are you willing to assume the burden that comes with classification in the FB category - separation of family while waiting for PD to be current? Think of what it will do to someone who comes to US on GC through the FB category and later gets married to an Indian citizen. The current wait time for that individual is 5+ years and the individual cannot stay with spouse for a long stretch otherwise he/she loses the GC or does not meet minimum residency requirement for citizenship.

Let me answer that. I am from Fiji but I was born in India so I am stuck with rest of you and for my family going back is not an option. Fiji is very hostile to indians living there so for us it's here or nowhere. May be india is an option but we have very few distant relatives in India as both of our parents has passed away.
Though it is a big shock for me and my family, I have to get over it and think about their survival after me.
My apologies if I have given the impression as GC greedy but I can understand how difficult it is for someone to understand how is life without something you can call a "Home"
Fully appreciate your point. Do explore the option of having your GC expedited. Good luck!

@desi3933:
What's a "bona fide" job? Where did you see that a job needs to be"bona fide?"
Also, if you're self-employed, why can't you show that's a "legitimate" business? Who's asking for a business plan--and why should that be difficult to make if you're self-employed? Please, let's not *assume* things. We should base our opinions only on facts and evidence.
Its not ability to pay issue? The main point is to show that job is real, and bonafine.
May I ask, how do you plan to demonstate that job offered in self employment is same/similar to I-140 job and it is bonafide job offer?
.

Good suggestion for bringing this to Ombudsman. BUt anyway informing USCIS would be the wise step in a sense you will not invite unforseen problems may be associated with not informing.
Reason for not informing could be the vagueness and subjective element of what is same/similar job. If you are close to getting your GC, and you don't expect any RFE, you might want to avoid that potential issue. Of course, if there is long time interval between I-485 filing and the USCIS decision making time, USCIS might like to reconfirm if original job offer is still there. In that case it is better to inform USCIS about the job change, before they issue an RFE.
Anyway, it is better to get a clarification from Ombudsman

I suggest that you should request him and convince him that you are not going to quit and make up some story like your spouse wants EAD to work and you are joining masters program etc.

EAD Paper Filed (EB3-India, PD Nov 2006 : For Me and My spouse)
Documents Mailed: July 01, 2008
Receipt Notice: July 03, 2008
LUD: July 08, 2008
Current Status: My case was approved and card production ordered on August 14, 2008 (got the email from CRIS) and still waiting for my spouse's EAD approval.

Raghav, congrats and thanks for the update.
Is July 08, 2008 also the Notice Date on your receipt notice? I'm wondering if generally there is one more LUD after the notice date and before the approval, when they pull the file off the shelf and start working on the case.
for me no LUD after notice date.

I applied 485 on July2nd 2007, we never got the FP notice, I called up the USCIS inquiry number, opened two service requests, nothing happened. My lawyer sent a letter asking USCIS to look at our case, that was ignored as well. We finally got an Infopass appointment and went to the office today, after a little bit of confusion, we were told that the most likely cause was that we sent pictures along with our EAD applications and that confused CIS procedures and they missed sending us FP notices.
Cant believe this crappy explanation, but this is what we were told. We were told that usually they call people in for FP and take the pictures and then process the EADs. Anyway, it took all of ten minutes to figure this out and issue us an FP notice, there is no reason they couldnt have done this over the phone...
Good thing though is that not having the FP done does not stop then from processing the Name check and infact my wife's name check has been completed..
Hope that helps...
Which USCIS office did you go ? Did they schedule your FP or did you get your FP done there itself?
Thanks

We all morons and still wont learn, we will still start predicting for next visa bulletin hoping that a reincarnation of god will come and deliver us visa numbers.
Unless we all make a collective effort no one is going to listen to us. I know the fate of my post, we all will get busy to get our post noted or express our opinion which will definitely solve our problem or proving our point the that "i am right you are wrong" or get busy with "my ideas are better than yours" or "who wins the quote slamming contest".
We have simply lost our fous of our main problem . I think we deserve this perhaps I think if we continue like this we dont even deserve GCs.[/QUOTE]
There is nothing change in the next bulletin. What you saw from the last couple of bulletins "Unavailable". That should be happened with in few months. This is my opinion. I am not blaming any body. This is the real situation going on from the last couple of years bulletins.

Thank you for contacting me to express your concerns regarding the management of Employment-Based Second Preference Visas. Your opinion is very important to me, and I appreciate the opportunity to respond to you about this issue.
The number of unused visas is a concern that plagues our current immigration system. As a result, I believe it is important to reform our immigration system to meet the demands of our global marketplace. You may be pleased to know that I introduced S. 1085, the Reuniting Families Act (RFA), to not only address the issue of family reunification, but also to recapture employment-based visas that haven't been used in past years so that they may be used in future years. This bill also eliminates the current backlogs and long wait times in the family immigration system. Please rest assured that I will keep your views in mind as I continue to address the concerns of employment-based visas in the context of comprehensive immigration reform.
Several Senators including myself are currently working on a comprehensive immigration reform framework that aims to fix all the problems within our current immigration system. I thank you for sharing your thoughts with me, and I appreciate your support. Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of further assistance. I invite you to visit my website (Robert Menendez - US Senator for New Jersey: Home (http://menendez.senate.gov)) to learn more about how I am standing up for New Jersey families in the United States Senate.
